Sunaparanta-Goa Centre for the Arts
A sanctum sanctorum of the arts in this creatively well-endowed State, Sunaparanta-Goa Centre for the Arts, is a not-for-profit arts initiative founded in 2009 by Mr Dattaraj V. Salgaocar.
Located in the elegant neighbourhood of Altinho in Panaji, the Centre has established itself as a strong advocate for the arts in Goa, providing working and exhibition space, assistance with exchange and grant funding initiatives, infrastructural and creative support for special co-operative projects and networking with the state, national and international organisations.
Sunaparanta houses several exhibition galleries, a library, a large multi-functional space for workshops and lectures, an open-air amphitheatre and a courtyard that houses an alfresco café.
The Centre has independently hosted and co-hosted some of the top nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, namely, Bharat Sikka, Laxman Pai, Nikhil Chopra, Roger Ballen, Julian Opie, Cruzo and F. N. Souza, to name a few.
