V.M.Salgaocar Konkani Samshodhan Kendra

The Centre for Research in Konkani is dedicated to the memory of the late Mr. Vassudeva Salgaocar, the patriarch of the Salgaocar Empire, whose commitment to the language of the land was unparalleled and unequivocal. It was the late Mr. Vassudeva Salgaocar’s dream that the Konkani language should be given wings to flourish.

Hence, the Centre has been tasked to give flight to his vision, by making financial as well as institutional resources available to scholars and Konkani language lovers, to ensure that Goa’s indigenous language attains more glory by generating quality literature and fundamental research in the field of language, music, folk tradition and Konkani society at large, which is spread over the entire western coast of India.
